Circle Journal Swap - deadline to sign up July 31st

  • September 15, 2007 · 11:45 PM

Jo W. is the hostess for this swap. Once the deadline to sign up is done, she will organize the order in which the journals will be passed onto the next person. She will try her best to make it so that people do not have to mail anything, but there is a chance you may have too. You will always be passing on the journal to the same person so that make it a little easier.

* Deadline to sign up: July 31st
* Prepare your journal and have it ready to mail or pass off between August 15th and 31st.
* When you receive a journal, you have two weeks to complete it and pass on to the next person (this part is important to understand - you do not have two weeks to complete it, you have two weeks to get it on to the next person. So if you are mailing it out, you have to give at least 3-4 work days travel time for the post office. Ensure you journal is in the mail 4 work days before the 2 weeks cut off time).
What is a circle journal? A themed album that is passed throughout a group of people, each person signs the sign in page, then completes a 2 page layout in the album before passing it to the next person. You must pick a theme for your journal as a guide for other who will be completing pages in your journal. You must provide your own journal, just keep in mind that it is going to be put through the post office so a great big leather bound 12 x 12 album is not a good choice. Seems like the 8" by 8" or smaller is the most popular.

A circle journal is not for the faint hearted. It involves time, effort, commitment, heart & soul, and money for postage.

If you CANNOT commit to a schedule like this then please DO NOT sign up for this event. With a circle journal it is most important to treat the journal as if it is your own, so respect, courtesy and ownership is also a big part of a circle journal.

Sign up here if you are interested. We will hold the sign up open until July 31st. You will then have until August 15th to have it ready to pass on or mail out. See post on message board for links to sample circle journals

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
