Q&A with screenwriter Steve Spatucci

  • Apr 6, 2013 · 2:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Steve is graphic designer from South Jersey who recently sold his script Play Date and it is now currently in development with the production company Mental Giants.

He has a story is worth telling. Over the course of nearly 7 years, he sold first script sold to a young, independent production company. He’ll provide a presentation and answer all your questions about story development, approaching producers, finalizing the contract, and copyright issues.

He will share:

• The timeline of events from conception to its current state in the development process,
• printouts of visual materials, or Look Book, that he personally created for the screenplay, and
• share producers' coverage of the script.

He will also explain how to put together handouts and other graphics to get more interest in your project.

Fee: $5, to help pay for the location and equipment rentals.

Please don't be alarmed when you show up at Benjamin's Desk tomorrow. The entrance to the building (1701 Walnut St, entrance on 17th) and the door to the office space on the 7th floor, requires a passcode to get in. I will be there to open the doors, so please wait patiently outside or in the lobby if someone else lets you in. If you don't see me right away, I'm on my way. You won't have to wait more than 5 minutes.

Very informative. Nice to see a writer who "gets" the business aspect of screenwriting.

It was very informative and wonderful to hear another person's journey in writing in person. Steve is a great speaker (good voice and good choice of words) and a great presenter of information using technology. He adds the right amount of humor as well.
