7:00 - 8:00 PM - Presentation

We're Agile! (Now where do we managers fit?)

with Ron Lichty

Have you ever noticed that none of the maps of agile processes include the role of manager? Many managers whose companies have “gone agile” are left wondering if they even have a role. The good news is that managers are essential to the success of companies going agile. The reason nobody seems to talk much about agile management is that it’s a slippery subject, based on this one simple fact of life: no two agile management positions look alike. The unique flavor of each management role in an agile shop derives from the organic development of teams and maturity of their enterprises, process, and culture. Pivot to embrace the opportunities this kind of adaptable structure provides, and you will find your position in the value-delivery chain more important than ever.

This interactive session will foment rich and revealing conversations about the roles and responsibilities you've traditionally thought of as "yours,” and how agile principles and practices can replace them with more meaningful fare. By the end, you will have a fluid understanding of how your newfound agility will help you lead teams to greater productivity.
