Following on from the group survey results (i will discuss further on the night) there were 2 clear winners in which content was required next and they were: Technical Debt and Agile Contracts.
Another comment received was for more technical detail during the sessions.

With those things in mind, this months meetup is......


Technical Debt and What to do about it.
Technical debt is something that gets a lot of attention. We're told that it's in our code, and that our companies and customers are suffering because of it. But what is Technical Debt? How can we avoid introducing Technical Debt? And more importantly, how do we deal with technical debt once it's part of our code?

In this one hour presentation, Kane will introduce the concept of technical debt. He will give specific advice on how to recognize it, and what to do to improve the quality of your code.

Kane Mar
Kane Mar is a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST) and Scrum Coach (CSC) specializing in Scrum and Extreme Programming. He has been working exclusively with Agile software development teams since 2001 and has worked with clients such as QPass, Microsoft, Capital One, Progressive, and TransCanada Pipelines. Prior to his work with Agile software development, Kane had 15 years of experience as a developer and project manager for Waterfall and RUP projects.

Kane is also the founder of the Seattle Scrum Users Group; the very first Scrum specific users group.
