Underwater Treasure Hunting Guest Speaker

Barry Dunford the PADI Regional Representative is coming on July 19th at 6:30 m to tell tales of his underwater treasure hunting expeditions. Barry spent 6 years treasure hunting in the Bahamas and Caribbean working for Dennis Standefer, Mel Fisher and eventually owning his own treasure hunting company. Barry will bring a sampling of artifacts and tall tales to entertain.

    It was really interesting. I met to ask if he had dove around Galeta Island and the Smithsonian research center close to there. There is a brass cannon out in the water there. We never recovered it. Had plans to lift it; but, knew Noriega's goverment would claim it if we brought it up and took it to Coco Solo.

    Sounds like fun! I have coins from The Spanish Galleons shipwreck the Concepcion 1641 found by Mel Fisher in the 70's and will be offering some of them for sale. They are silver Reales and have been rated, numbered and certified.
