To prepare for class and the test, I suggest you study a little. To memorize 30 fishes or 60 inverts for the first time is not easy. All powerpoints can be downloaded for the SDOF web site, http://sdof.org/programs/education/reef-monitoring/

Oops, I hit Enter too soon! Scroll down to "California Resources" and check out the Flashcards, or the Flashcard app if you have a smartphone. It's a good quick way to quiz yourself on fish and inverts.

Thank you one and all for your interest in doing REEF survey's. I have been doing REEF survey's for several years now and I'm learning new fish species all the time. The survey is on-line and easy and quick to do. It really does help scientists monitor fish and invert population levels, especially with the MLPA's in place.

To prepare for class for May 15th, please study my LEVEL 2 FISH ID powerpoint...
    http://sdof.org/programs/education/reef-monitoring/
This will really give you an edge and confidence to pass the 20 question test of knowing Fish Family name and Fish Common name.

Thanks in advance for your participation, and I'm really looking forward to meeting you all.

Folks, since all spot have been taken, may I suggest: Show the instructor and Reef.org your respect by showing up as you have RSVPed to do. Not showing means you are taking away a spot from someone else who wanted to go. Have a great time and enjoy this fun and worthwhile class!

Warning: Surveying marine life can be addictive. Attendees risk becoming "fish geeks" like me!
