DUI Drysuit Factory Tour and Lunch

DUI KNOWS DRYSUITS!

This is an absolute "no flake" event.

DUI drysuits founder, Richard Long, has invited us personally to do a DUI factory tour with him. He'll take us around and show us all the facets of DUI's industry-leading drysuit manufacturing process.

Dick Long models new drysuit.

Some of the artifacts & memorabilia from bygone eras will be found in various corners of the plant. They come with good stories that Dick will entertain us with.

Tour Start Time: Tour starts at 10 am.

Congressmen Bilbray & Hunter (center) are shown manufacturing methods.

After the tour, we'll all have lunch* (location TBD). Come join us!

Bill

I enjoyed the tour and meeting Dick and getting to know his business ethics. I cannot wait until I have the dough re me to upgrade my Mobby's dry suit to a DUI suit. My wife,Angela, is especially interested in the battery powered got water suits. lunch was good also as I got to know Dicks grandson Danny and a fellow believer, Barbara. Even though Barbara and I had a difficult time getting any words in together as Danny is so happy to continue talking, he is young though. Thanx Bill for setting up the tour, and thank you so much Dick for having us, you are definitely an inspiring visionary, fellow entrepreneur (and thats not easy despite what our team members think, and you are a great steward of the ocean. I am a young buck at 40, and only been diving for about 13 years, but you are right, awesome sightings are rare these days but they still happen occasionally.

Truly a fun and informative meetup. I was most impressed by all the other applications that dry suits are used for like military and coast guard, contaminated water etc. I'm also impressed by the attention to detail and the quality control systems in place, these suits are truly handmade and made in America! Now I know why I can't afford one :) (Someday!)

Agreed ! I was most impressed with Dick's devotion to the underwater world and the dive industry. As he said, we are the ocean's ambassador's to protect it for future generations. I too was amazed at his knowledge of human physiology in relation to diving. He is definitley in the "pioneer" category.

Dick is awesome. Old school. Pioneer. Passionate. Enthusiastic. Great to see someone who cares more about quality, product and innovation more so than profit. Loved that he had multiple generations of families working for him and that he shares the success with all his employees. Good Man. "If you are going to be a bear, might as well be a Grizzly."

Another great Power Scuba event! It was very interesting to see how my drysuit was made and tested.

Dick is a wealth of information about diving in general and DUI's products in particular.

Extremely educational, yet fun. It was great to see and hear how our suits are born and raised. Dick is a wealth of knowledge about diving in general. The heat suit was fun to try. Very comfy. Now to figure out how to make that happen for me. Just need 200 feet of hose and an engine.

Alright folks. The time for this DUI Factory Tour is almost here! I'd really appreciate no last-minute backouts. We've turned people away for this Tour and so it's not fair to them to not show at this point.

Looking forward to see you all there!

Looks like I have Angela, Yuri, and Jonathan as my three volunteers right now. Also, if any of you encounter changed plans, please change your RSVP here to "No" immediately in order to give someone else a chance to come. "No Shows" will be looked on dimly. Thanks.
