    Bug Hunting Night Dive!

In water time will be approximately 6:00pm

Who's up for a night dive?  If you are properly licensed and equipped, you can go lobster hunting as well.  If not, please feel free to join us for a great night dive!

WHERE: Marine Street...NOT to be confused with Marine Room.  Should be some parking available near the steps leading to shore.

This will be a one-tank dive, but I will be bringing a second tank just in case anyone wants to go in again.  You don't have to wake up early on Sunday, do ya?  Hope to see you there!

If you need to contact me, please text or call[masked]-3085.

Please bring a primary dive light, a backup dive light, and a glow-stick or equivalent to tie to your first stage.

Be sure that your batteries are fully charged and that your lights are properly secured to your gear.  After the dive if you'd like to take a nap, I can tell you the story, from long ago, of the time when my primary light ran out of juice, I'd lost my backup light while separated from my buddy, and I was low on air.  Hint: Don't do that.

Never been on a night dive before?  It is recommended to have experience at a dive site during daylight hours before venturing out at night, so if you're already familiar with this dive site and you're diving with a buddy who has been night diving before, you'll be well-prepared.

You MUST have the following items with you if you plan to take California spiny lobster:

    1. California Fishing License
    2. Ocean Enhancement
    3. Lobster Report Card*
    4. Lobster Gauge
    5. Lobster Catch Bag
    6. A suitable container to take lobster home in

*Regulations require you to fill out the Lobster Report Card before you get wet.  Marine Street is in zone 25.

If you aren't properly licensed, you can't hunt--you can only observe.  Either pair up with a lobster diver and assist him or her with your light and watch the action, or pair up with a non-lobster diver and enjoy a night dive on your own terms.

If you've never been lobster diving before, ask an experienced lobster diver for a briefing.

NOTE: Lobster are currently considered an extremely sustainable species (unlike most of our fish stocks), which is why we participate.

The Virtual Donation Jar is always out (for the Meetup site costs and general fund). It's strictly voluntary, but is very much appreciated and needed: Click here for the DONATION JAR

If you have not submitted a Liability Release for Power Scuba, please follow this link to the file, print, sign, and bring to the event along with your C-Card (scuba certification card). You need to do this at least once a year:  Liability Release and Assumption of Risk

You must also read this: Disclaimer and Clarification... AKA Terms of Service...AKA Terms and Conditions

Anyone with a medical condition possibly counter-indicitive to diving must have a doctors signature on a diving waiver form and submit signed form to Bill Powers (or an organizer) before they may attend any Power Scuba event. YOU MAY NOT ATTEND AN EVENT WITH AN UNDISCLOSED MEDICAL CONDITION. Doing so is grounds for expulsion from the group. Here is our medical statement: Medical Statement Therein you'll find a Doctor Waiver form as well.

Attending any scuba event Power Scuba facilitates constitutes attendee's affirmation they are medically fit to dive, certified to dive by a nationally-recognized agency, have the necessary skill & training level for the dive being offered, have read the Terms and Conditions, and have submitted a signed Liability Release to an organizer.

Important Note: It is not the organizer's role to lead your dive (or to wait for you after you come out of the water). He/she merely facilitates you getting to the pre-dive meeting location. The Organizer will not assign you a buddy nor will he/she be leading the dive as a "group dive". Visibility and liability do not allow for that. Nor will the Organizer tell you whether you are skilled enough to make any particular dive. That is for you (only) to decide. When you enter the water, you (and your buddy) are on your own. You must plan and execute your dive with your dive buddy only. Once members arrive at the meeting spot, the Organizer becomes simply another diver.

Power Scuba bears no responsibility or liability for a member's loss (gas, airfare, hotel fees, etc) in the event of a cancelled event.

Your participation constitutes your affirmation you agree to these above rules and disclaimers.... and that your buddy(s) (if applicable) has read and agrees to the same.

Yes Liz, that was my plan all along. If we notice anyone else RSVP, it must be a nitrogen narcosis induced hallucination!

I also bought new fins just so I could keep up with you!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
