Diving at Marine RoomBreakfast Buffet at Marine Room
WHERE: Anyone familiar with the Marine Room dive site knows that it’s named for the French Restaurant that we haul our gear past each time we dive there. But how many of us have actually eaten there? Well, now’s your chance! And no, I'm not referring to chicken wings from a cooler while you're propped up against the restaurant's wall in between dives.
WHAT: All you can eat Breakfast Buffet!
Marine Room is having one of their famous “High Tide Breakfasts” and Power Scuba will be there. I’ve reserved a table for twelve under the name of "Power Scuba". If we fill up early, I will call ahead and try to increase the number of spots, so please sign up now if you know you’re going.
ATTIRE: When I inquired about their dress code, the Maître D' didn't actually say "Just don't dress like a slob" but when I asked that question, he made noises of agreement. They prefer business casual at nights but at breakfast, they relax the rules a little.
But what about DIVING? Feel free to coordinate with a buddy and go diving after breakfast if conditions allow, but since I am unable to dive at this point in time, I won’t be hosting a dive for this event. Any diving that takes place afterwards will not be an official Power Scuba event.
BONUS: Find out why Eric Golden is buying Scott Greene’s breakfast! Hear the riveting and unbelievable story of how Scott battled a 20-foot great white tiger-leopard shark in zero visibility while summoning help from the local fire department using his amazing psi powers! Learn how Eric held his breath for thirty minutes underwater while fending off a giant squid and was then given mouth-to-mouth by a firewoman who is ALSO a supermodel.
(Image simulating what Eric's rescuer would rather have given mouth-to-mouth to is used with permission by Ashley Hauck)
On a more serious note, this will be a chance to dine at a well-known SCUBA diving landmark and enjoy fabulous food and be treated to a good show put on by the very same Mother Nature that we all need to be respectful of.
The buffet is $32 per person, which is reasonable compared to dinner there. One could easily spend $200 for dinner for two. I hear it’s fantastic, but you could buy new fins at that price and still have money left over for a boat dive. Breakfast is a lot more affordable, comparatively speaking.
SHOW UP HUNGRY.

Hope to see you there!
