How many dives under your belt?

How often do you dive?

When ocean conditions are playing nice I average about three to four dives per week. When it ain' dives per week. Let me put it this way: I daydream about diving, even while I'm diving.

How, specifically, did you find out about this group? (If you found us via another web site, please name it.)

I saw the announcement on the Divebums email list in October 2008. I thought to myself "Cool. I should join that Meetup group." I sprung into action. Seven months later, I joined the group.

What features and events are you looking for in a dive group?

I'm looking for a group of people that are fun-loving and dive without ego. I want to eventually dive at every spot in the San Diego area, plus all Channel Islands and the Cortes Bank. I want to dive with dolphins and whales. Yes, I have a cephalafetish, if you must know.

What is your certification level and where did you get certified?

Nitrox, Wreck, Rescue, Solo

I'm on a mission to explore strange new underwater worlds; to seek out new marine life and new aquatic civilizations; to boldly dive where no dude has dived before. OK, I also like peeing underwater.

What Raleigh is saying about this Meetup Group

I joined this group back in May 2009, and I must say that it has been very, very good for me. I've met all kinds of new dive buddies, and more importantly, met some people who I now consider good friends. I've gone on quite a few very fun dive trips with the group, and of course I've been on quite a few local dive boat trips. I've been diving with greater frequency than I ever have. This has not only improved my dive skills, but it has also re-kindled my passion for diving that had waned a bit while I wasn't diving much. But best of all, I have been hanging out with some great people that I met through this group.
