John Chatterton Wreck Diving Workshop

BugFest-By-The-Sea begins on Sunday, July 27th with a morning classroom session and two afternoon dives with legendary wreck diver John Chatterton, one of the world’s top wreck diving experts. Chatterton and fellow wreck diver Richie Kohler solved one of the last mysteries of World War II when they found and later identified U-869, a German submarine 60 miles off New Jersey. The bookShadow Divers by Robert Kurson details Chatterton and Kohler’s amazing and determined efforts to learn the U-boat’s identity. The workshop begins with a 9AM to noon classroom session, followed by afternoon dives on two former U.S. Coast Guard vessels, the Capt. Dan (110’ feet) off Pompano Beach, and the Ancient Mariner (70’) off Deerfield Beach. The $110 workshop cost includes your charter boat dives (South Florida Diving Headquarters).
