Presentation: Security’s (almost) Big Data and its effects on Incident Response
Buzz words are a fact of life in today’s IT ecosystem and Big Data is no exception. This presentation will look at how security information fits into this bigger picture with a focus on big data in the incident response process.

Presentation: “Big Data Approaches to Cloud Security”
Cloud architectures generate massive amounts of machine data. This data contains significant insight for operational improvement and security forensics. The promise of Big Data solutions for machine data is to not only find information about breaches in near real time, but to also provide predictive capabilities to contain or avoid future security incidents. This session will look briefly at generic cloud architecture, the types of machine data generated, the concept of time-sequencing events and how big data solutions provide the ability to find and predict security breaches. Recent hacking examples will be used to illustrate the concepts.
