“Visual Summarization and Meta-analytic Approaches to Harden Security of Big Data Analytic Workloads on Cloud”

Big Data Analytics (BDA) workloads are a significant new set of Cloud workloads. QUIRC is a quantitative risk and impact assessment framework to assess the security risks associated with cloud computing platforms. QUIRC’s key advantage is its fully quantitative and iterative convergence approach, which enables stakeholders to comparatively assess the relative robustness of different cloud vendor offerings and approaches in a defensible manner. Using QUIRC, this presentation will demonstrate how some of the essential security concerns around BDA Cloud workloads (especially Tampering, Information Disclosure, Denial of Service and Elevation of Privilege from Microsoft’s STRIDE) may be effectively addressed using metadata and visual summarization based approaches.

“A Wholistic View Of Cloud Privacy, How It Relates To You, & The NSA”

The Cloud is still a very abstract term in today’s digital age. With Hybrid, Public, Private, Corporate Clouds how does one understand the clear differences and choose what is best when it comes to safeguarding enterprise and/or personal information and what is important to know with the current NSA concerns and how will it affect not only Americans but the world we live in today?
