Coastal Exploration

Even though we have now paddled around the channel a few times, there are still things to discover! We will paddle up the channel exploring the different secluded beaches and bays that it has to offer. There are a few villages around the channel that we haven't yet explored, so this will be a god time to do it.

With some force 4 winds forecasted we will practice the skill of hiding behind big mountains to stay nice and warm and make paddling a lot easier and drier. For those who do want to get wet, we can splash you on command to give you a true kayaking experience...

For lunch we will be stoping at one of the many secluded beaches around the area and enjoy the scenery around us. After we will continue paddling until we reach the mangrove area around Nam Shan Tung and see what there is to see there.

THINGS TO CONSIDER & PREPARE.

Bring your lunch, snacks and a water bottle. You can fill them at Kei Ling Ha so don't worry about carrying them on the MTR. Remember that we are going to kayaking and getting wet might happen, so make sure you bring a change of clothes so you can change into and be nice and warm.

If the weather is cool, bring a fleece to paddle in.

A great time was had by all! My lower legs itched on the way back from the haunted village, perhaps some poisonous plant or swarm of bugs, days later little red dots still itch, anyone else get this?

Absolutely fantastic! Great company and beautiful waters. Justin is excellent in coaching and leading kayaking trip, as usual, now we also know that he's really good with setting up a bon fire on a freezing day! None of us want to leave the fire and get back into the kayaks :) *Thank you*!!!!

Justin, apologies if you have got a few emails saying the same thing - it's very difficult to work out whether they've been sent or not.

Anyway - thanks for the response and I understand your approach. I am happy to do the beginners A and B courses before going out with your group. Could you please let me know when they next run so I can enrol myself if I'm in HK.

    Thanks,

    John

hey John you can definitely sign for one up whenever you want, unfortunately we are not running them right now in winter because the water is a bit chilly and the program involves a lot of time in the water. If you do want to join one of these paddles for on the weekend n the time being you are more than welcomed to do so...

      Cheers

      Justin

Hi John, just in case, if you are asking whether there is a kayak hire fee for the trip you are attending I will clarify our meetup policy. Sea kayaks are expensive pieces of equipment to own and store so in order to be able to continue offering the opportunity to sea kayak to people without their own equipment we ask for a kayak hire fee. There is no fee for coming along on the trip, that is a free of charge service we are providing so that we can all enjoy the beauty of sea kayaking in Hong Kong. So the $150 for this trip is for kayak hire. You will need to supply your own food and water too as well as where appropriate clothing for the trip. Wet shoes are mandatory on all our trips so make sure you bring some along.
