Ko Lau Wan 2 day camping trip!

So this trip is very last minute but guaranteed to be a fun one!

We will be paddling from Kei Lin Ha San Wai through the Hoi Ha Marine Park to reach our campsite in Ko Lau Wan! We will be camping there and next morning we will set out to paddle around Grass island, Port Island and then back to Kei Lin Ha.  The forecast shows some nice calm water for both days, which always make for amazing kayaking!

This trip will allow you toe scape the city hustle and bustle and come relax in an area that is a a pristine state of tranquility!

What you will need to bring>

1. pair of closed toe shoes that will get wet and will use for walking on rocks, barnacles and whatever else there is around (old trainers work)

2. clothes that are going to get wet (i use board shorts)

3. a base layer that will keep you warm if you get wet (rash vest, paddling shirt, polypropylene) NO COTTON!!!!! IF IT GETS WET YOU STAY COLD FOR THE ENTIRE DAY!!!!

5. A change of clothes for after kayaking (BRING even if you think you are not going to get wet) Better be safe than sorry.

Hi, I am new and haven't done sea kayak for a long while. Wondering how physically demanding is this trip? In terms of weather, does it get colder than 15C at night? Would love to join you. Just want to see if I can manage without a sleeping bag.

I think you should have been ok. I peddled only 3 days so far. Justin said there are trips that say "intermediate" and those are the ones that beginners (like me) can't come

As for the weather, use www.hko.gov.hk. Smartphone apps are also available.

Since I didn't hear back a response (till now), I didn't get myself ready. So maybe another time.

Kei ling ha San Wai is a tiny place. I guess that's why there was no response. It will take you about an hour to get there if you take minibus to tai Wai then take the ma on Shan line to Wu kai sha. (See the reply I left for Leslie for the rest of the journey). Too bad you can't come. I really wanted to hear the whereabouts and the story of your profile photo!

Bus 99 (or 299 or 86k mini) runs every 30 mins on weekends. Taxi costs about $35 and takes 10 mins. Make sure to get into the green taxi not the red one.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
