Beginner Seakayak Part B

A journey by sea, totally dependant on sea and wind conditions.

This sea kayak trip is to practice the skills learned in Part A or for those paddlers who have a desire to do a short and easy kayak trip.

We will depart Mui Wo around 10:30 taking our lunch with us (make sure you bring a packed lunch). Then, depending on what the weather is doing, we will do a recap on the different paddle strokes that were taught on the Part A then head off on a short journey to get everyone to the skill level needed to safely handle a sea kayak.

This trip is to build paddling skills and experience and have a good time.

DIRECTIONS

Be on the 9am ferry from Central to Mui Wo at pier 6!

We Will meet at the ferry in Mui Wo!

I injured my 2 arms yesterday night moving heavy boxes. I woke up today and cannot move my arms at all. Unfortunately I have to resign to go with such a short notice. Sorry about it.

ere is a list of things that you need to bring

    1. pair of closed toe shoes that will get wet and will use for walking on rocks, barnacles and whatever else there is around (old trainers work)

    2. clothes that are going to get wet (i use board shorts)

    3. a base layer that will keep you warm if you get wet (rash vest, paddling shirt, polypropylene) NO COTTON!!!!! IF IT GETS WET YOU STAY COLD FOR THE ENTIRE DAY!!!!

    4. A Fleece and a light rain jacket (fleece for after paddling but also if you get cold easily, rain jacket to keep you dry from water spray, protect you from wind and the cold).

    5. A change of clothes for after kayaking (BRING even if you think you are not going to get wet) Better be safe than sorry.
    *TOWEL also comes in handy*

    6. Packed lunch

    7. Water bottle (you can get filtered water at the put-in)

    8. Snacks

    9. camera (its better if waterproof)

    10. Dry bag if you have one

    Cheers

    Justin

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
