The water is no longer cold, the weather forecast seems promising, so its a perfect opportunity to get back in the water!
This day will be build around in getting everyone a lot more comfortable in the water, and getting everybody to practice some skills that they havent used in a long time.
For this Sunday I have prepared a refresher course for all of those who are interested in remembering how to rescue a person, how to get back into the kayaks after a capsize, but also a really good practice run on your paddling skills and hopefully teach you some new ones.
During the morning we will practice the rescue techniques and then in the afternoon, we will head out for a short journey around the Lantau region.
Prior to starting the day (morning) I will ask everyone what do they want to practice and we will include that to the set training program, this way everyone gets to work on what they still dont feel 100% comfortable with.
After paddling and having fun in the water, we will then be back at Silvermine Beach (Mui Wo) to get changed and relax.
We then finish our day having dinner and a chilled wine or cold beer at the China Bear (next to the Moi Wo ferry terminal) to thank them for taking care of all our gear (bring some money).
My phone number is[masked] or email at [masked] for any inquiries.
From central take the 9:40 am fast ferry. It arrives at Moi Wo at 10:10 am.
Bring your lunch, a water bottle (full of water) and some shoes that will get wet when kayaking.
Make sure that you also include clothes to get changed into after kayaking. Rain jacket if you want one, and a sweater for night time (if you need one).
It is forecasted to be sunny with occasional rain.
Don't get yourself kicked out!
As with all our meetups we want courtesy when RSVPing. If you say yes and drop out at the last minute I will remove you from the group.
Can beginners attend?
Yes, this is a beginners day as we will be doing some skills training and will have double kayaks so beginners are very welcome.
