Do I have to have paddled before?
No, but to go on any of the non-beginner/extended or day paddles you need to show you can be safe and not put others at risk. That means knowing how to do a self rescue and how to help others in sea-kayaks.
If you haven't done this before you will be expected to attend one of our beginner training days.

Do I need my own sea-kayak?
No. We have access to double and single sea-kayaks, as well as a couple of river / surf kayaks (these are owned by our sponsor OEDAsia Limited www.outdooreducationasia.com). The hire fee you pay covers the cost and upkeep of these kayaks.

What do I have to bring?
Swimming clothes as you generally get wet, especially if we practice any rescues or surfing.
Closed toe shoes, a towel, a camera if it is water proof, a hat for shade and a water bottle to carry on the kayak.
A smile and a good attitude is essential as you will be sharing a kayak with another paddler.
See our 'what to wear' page for a better explanation.

Do I need to be able to swim?
No, you will be wearing a buoyancy aid at all times which means that knowing how to swim is optional. Being water confident is good, but this too can be learned. When you do your sea kayak training courses you will be expected to capsize a kayak on purpose so you will get used to being in the water as part of your rescue training.

Do we need to pay before the trip?
Generally no, you pay on the day.
