This is something we haven't tried before, and please note there's a chance I may not be able to make it myself due to a photoshoot conflict, but if you can make this event, I encourage you to do so.
The incredibly hard-working Chris Greiner of 3S Art Space reached out because 3S and the Portsmouth Public Library are partnering to screen "Gregory Crewdson: Brief Encounters," a new documentary about the photographer's 10-year quest to stage and shoot a series of haunting photographs and their elaborate scenes.
Gregory Crewdson is a fine photographer with a filmmaker's eye. He stages elaborate scenes (indoors, outdoors, and often both) which draw you into the many details, yet amaze in totality.
You can catch a glimpse of the film here.
You can see more of Gregory's work here. Note, there may be some artistic nudity included here.
See also the 3S Art Space Event Page.
If you're a fan of Crewdson's work, Chris would love to have you lead a discussion following the film. If you're interested, call Chris at [masked].
So that's how he did that!! There was a master carpenter in the audience who worked with Crewdson. Wish he got up and spoke.

I found the film well thought out and very informative to Gregory's photography. It was interesting to see how he constructed his idea for a photograph, from scouting locations, building props, lighting, models to an amazing completed image.

Absolutely breathtaking! I loved how he knew just what and how to complete his vision.
Wonderful evening. Discussion after was interesting. An inspiration for sure.
