Art Talk: Bird Photography

Bird Photography

speaker: Len Medlock

Len Medlock, calls himself “just a birder with a camera” but one look at his site (http://www.flickr.com/photos/lmedlock/8618376812/) will show you that he is a skilled bird photographer.  Len will give a slide presentation and lecture, which will provide room for funny anecdotes from sojourns in marsh, field, and driving sleet.

It didn't take long for those in attendance to realize that Len's dedication, knowledge, effort and enthusiasm are what make him such a good bird photographer.

Not only were the photos very good, but Len's comments as to what he thought the birds were thinking when he took the pictures were a hoot! His knowledge of bird habits and habitats and their calls was impressive!

I have a sneaking suspicion that two of the main requirements for getting good shots of birds involve a lot of TIME and a lot of PATIENCE -- and probably a good set of waterproof hiking shoes. The shoes and the patience are not a problem, but the TIME is! Looking forward, though, to what Len has to say and to enjoy seeing his pictures!

Really hate to drop out, but I have to take advantage of the good weather and daylight and get some work done in the yard/garden.
