SPA Social Event-Artist Reception-NHAA's Open Juried Exhibition @ Prescott Park

Please join us next Friday, June 27 from 5-7 pm at the Sheafe Warehouse at Prescott Park for the opening reception!  Exhibiting SPA members Michael Sterling, Kristin Willis BurchstedPat Kennedy Corlin, David S. BoothStephen D. ClarkThanh Thái and Marilu Hornak will be on hand to enjoy the evening with all.

The exhibition will be open through August 24th, 2014.

Exhibiting artists have the opportunity to display and sell cards and up to 15 portfolio pieces in addition to their one framed piece that was accepted into the show. This means there will be lots of wonderful artwork for sale that you can purchase and frame yourself, or share with others in a greeting or note card. This is a great way to pick up work from some from your favorite artists!

We know of three members of our Seacoast Photographer's Group will be exhibiting work at the New Hampshire Art Associations's Open Juried Exhibition at Prescott Park! With so much talent in our Meetup Group there may, in fact be more! Please let us know if we have left your name off our exhibitors list.

CONGRATULATIONS to SPA member Michael Sterling! He has received the honor of having his image, "Tugs Coming Home", selected by the New Hampshire Art Association to be made into the annual puzzle for the Prescott Park Arts Festival this summer!  These will be available for purchase during the run of the the exhibit.

Wonderful to see so many Seacoast Photographer's Group members at the Sheafe Warehouse this evening! Such a great historic building to hold an exhibit and Mother Nature provided us with perfect weather for the opening reception. If you missed seeing the exhibit tonight the good news is the exhibit will hang all summer, through August 24th. Come on by at your leisure and enjoy the outstanding collection of art work!

Is anyone going by New Castle on the way to the Sheafe tonight. I wouldn't mind catching a ride if you are so that we do not have 2 cars looking for parking spaces.

Hey, does anyone have a portfolio rack that I could borrow for a day or two? I just ordered one second day air, and I'm worried that it might not get here in time though I think it should. I might need to borrow one for a couple of days in case mine doesn't arrive in time for the drop-off of prints for sale at the exhibit.

Also: Any ideas about where I can get largish prints and frames shrinkwrapped - especially at a reasonable price?

Thank you, Ellen. I might have to take that route because I still have to make sure my prints and framed pieces are shrink-wrapped per specifications, and I'm not yet sure how I'll do that. Plus, some of my prints won't be here before Saturday, and I'm not sure what time they'll arrive then if they do.

Shrink-wrapping: Who does that? Custom Frame and Color on Route 1 Portsmouth (or maybe it's Rye), does, but they want $10 per piece, which I think is way too expensive.

Stephen I called NHAA you can use the cellophane sleeves you don't have to shrink wrap... the Artist craftsmen that just opened in Portland has them. I know too short a turn around time glad to hear we have more time then by Saturday to submit more prints. Not ready here either.

I was notified yesterday that my piece, "Portsmouth on Acid," was accepted.

No website yet, just a Flickr account. Accepted photo here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/stephendclark/13190903254/
