Please let us know about your instrument, interests and goals for learning, teaching, playing and jamming on your acoustic string instrument:
My main goal is to learn better musicianship - sit down with people I've never played with on a song I've never heard and have it sound decent! I would work first on Mandolin but would like to learn dobro as well.
This group is for all aspiring and professional acoustic string instruments players in the Seattle area who like to learn, play and jam in styles that include swing & gypsy jazz, Latin, bluegrass & fiddle, or progressive cross-over styles. We also promote workshop, jamming and professional performance events for aspiring students, jammers, pros and closet pickers. The group is sponsored by Peter Tilton for Workshop Music LLC and newearthworkshop.org. Peter has developed a non-profit foundation and art & music school with a mission to enjoin people in music and to promote, teach, perform and play acoustic music styles. We will also provide access to events and workshops for free or sliding-scale cost. The education goals for members are to teach & facilitate if you are experienced to help other members who are learning musicianship and music on their instruments. Workshops focus on music and less on styles, and jams are generally style-focused unless there is room for more than one jam.
There are at least four types of players who might join this group: 1, gypsy jazz/swing/Latin; 2, bluegrass/fiddle; and 3, people who like to play both or all styles. Number four is for the person who really wants to spend at least a year developing a foundation of right hand rhythmic fundamentals & left hand theory/muscle-memory and jamming using the Accelerated Music Program.
The creative energy of our art & music will bring us together in spirit to improve the communities & world we live in. This is how you can make a difference. This is one nice way to discover and share the energy of life. Email me directly or through meetup for questions/info...email@example.com
