This is a philosophy group that will focus on analytic philosophy, but is open to all approaches to philosophy. No specific background is necessary, and everyone from those who have never studied philosophy to those who have graduate degrees are welcome.
Analytic philosophy is, by far, the standard type of philosophy taught in Philosophy Departments throughout North America, Britain, Scandinavia, and beyond. Analytic philosophers aim for perspicuity and results. Core areas of analytic philosophy include ethics, epistemology (knowledge), metaphysics (e.g., free will, theism/atheism), philosophy of mind (e.g., consciousness), philosophy of science, and political philosophy.
Anyone is free to run a meetup session here. It can be run in a time or place of your choosing (or we can reserve a library room for you). Any format is ok. Anyone who wants to run a session can just contact the organizer, or use the "suggest a meetup" function.
