The merits of Ron Paul's ideology aren't the question. That, combined with his plausibility as a leader and commander in chief are the question. On those counts, I'd say he's failed miserably. His competition may not look much better, but several of them at least do come across as much stronger leaders. This is what counts when it comes to running for president of the USA. Obama (as much as I may dislike him) has a public presence that alone better qualifies him to be president than Ron Paul.

You may find it laughable, but I'd be ecstatic to have a non-warmonger president who wants to drastically reduce the size of the federal government. How much he would actually be able to reduce it is questionable, given all the opposition he would run into, but it would be fun to see him try.
