What instrument(s) do you play? (include voice if you sing!)

Soprano, Alto, Tenor & EWI. Also some Latin percussion.

What styles of music do you like to play/sing? (i.e., standards, blues, modal, bebop, free jazz, etc.)

Although I love to play standards and blues, my main interest has been in the composed music that came after and was the product of the modal and free jazz movement. I studied with Roy Nathanson of the Jazz Passengers in the early nineties and became seriously hooked on the Knitting Factory and Sweet Basil scene at that time. The music I love most is the stuff that is deeply knowledgeable of the tradition and, with that foundation, heads off on new paths

What formats do you want to play/sing in? (duo, trio, quartet, quintet, stageband, drop-in jam, hosted jam in public, etc.)

Any of the above.

How much theory can you apply in your playing/singing? (i.e., reharmonization, cycle of fifths, jazz scales/modes, etc.)

I have a solid background in theory and I can apply quite a bit. That said, there's always more to know and ways to know it better.

Do you read music or play by ear only? What kind of music do you read? (i.e., lead sheets/Real Books, written-out, etc.)

I read lead sheets and fully written scores.

I'm a east coast transplant who is passionate about jazz in all of its beautiful forms. I'm particularly interested in composing, playing in small ensemble settings and, of course, jamming. I would love to meet some like minded musicians to play with
