Hi Culture Connoisseurs!
Join us for the final Pacific Northwest Ballet dress rehearsal of the season and see the performance in its entirety for $30 plus a $3 service fee to include an optional pre-performance lecture. The benefit of attending the 45 minute pre-performance lecture is that it gives attendees access to Dress Circle seats which generally cost $100+. The lecture takes place in the Norcliffe Room on the lower level from 6-6:45 and the dress rehearsal takes place from 7-9:30. Tickets can be purchased here http://www.pnb.org/Community/Audience/Lectures.aspx and are general admission although they may appear to be assigned. Click here for more information on Director's Choice http://www.pnb.org/Season/12-13/DirectorsChoice/.
Tickets for the Dress Circle seating area will be handed out at the lecture. If you would like to sit with the group to watch the performance, meet me outside the lecture room after the lecture and we will walk together to Aisle C on the Orchestra level. I will be holding a Meetup sign. We will also gather at the bar on the Orchestra level at the top of the red stairs during intermission. Look for the Meetup sign. If you choose to have a drink during intermission, purchasing drinks in advance is recommended to avoid the lines.
Here is the performance description from PNB's website:
"PNB’s 40th Anniversary Season comes to a close with a tribute to George Balanchine, whose works have been vital to the Company’s history. This triple-bill also features a world premiere from Christopher Wheeldon, frequently cited as today’s best contemporary ballet choreographer and often compared to “Mr. B” for his prolific versatility and capacity to update tradition. Agon returns, expertly staged by Francia Russell (an original New York City Ballet cast member) and as startlingly avant-garde as its 1957 premiere. The program’s dazzling grand finale is Diamonds, the crowning gemstone of Balanchine’s three-part Jewels, added to PNB’s repertory by Peter Boal in 2006."
