Aim to misbehave!

The Seattle Browncoats are a local fan group of the TV show Firefly, created by Joss Whedon of Buffy, the Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Dollhouse. We like to do geeky-type events such as trips to the Seattle Sci-Fi Museum, attend the Emerald City Comic Con or play raucous games of dominoes. 

  All types of folks are welcome to come to our gatherings but there's no need to be familiar with Firefly or Serenity (the movie, not the state of mind), we like to introduce people to the 'Verse and see their reactions.

We also band together to provide support for local and international charities to give back a bit of what we've been so fortunate to have received. Some of the charities we've worked with are Equality Now, NorthWest Harvest, MOHAI and the Eastside Domestic Violence Program.

Geeks giving back to their communities have become a force to be reckoned with. Our numbers are many and our convictions are strong. We have done the impossible and that makes us mighty.

What's Happening for 2013?

We're taking off into the Black once again in 2013 for our Can't Stop the Serenity charity event in the summer!    Check the message board or go to  www.cstsseattle.org  to volunteer or get more details as we get things rolling for this year! - Shiny!

A big Thank You to the fans and sponsors of Seattle's 2012 Can't Stop the Serenity event. We raised over $2,100.00 in donations to send to Equality Now!

With support like this, we continue to do good works and look forward to more misbehavin' in the future.

The Sea 'Coats raised $4,344.90 in 2010, $5121.64 in 2009, $3,892.40 in 2008, $5485.00 for the 2007 screening event, $1229.00 from the first Can't Stop the Serenity Charity Screening event in 2006! This brings the total to Equality Now from the Seattle Browncoats to $22,172.94 over the last several years!
