This is a dance to benefit one of Seattle's original teachers and organizers who is in need of financial help for managing a chronic medical condition.
• Dynamic soprano Lucia Neare...• Swingin' chanteuse Dina Blade...• The Savoy Swing Club Performance Troupe...• We'll do a live-music Shim-Sham...• And the 7-piece Valse Cafe Orchestra will play a mix of Swing, Waltz, Blues and some Latin.
The evening begins at 8 p.m. with a 30-minute beginner waltz lesson followed by a 30-minute lesson for intermediate dancers.
The live music begins at 9 p.m. and goes until 11:30, with the Savoy Lindy Hop Performance Troupe hitting the floor during the first band break.
Suggested donation is $20 for the entire evening -- all of which goes to Nancyanna.
Parking: two good, cheap parking options:
• One-half block directly north of the ballroom, on the west side of Nagle Place, there's a well-marked parking garage (directly across from the lighted tennis courts).
• One block east of Broadway, on Harvard Avenue and East Pine Street, is the Seattle Central Community College Garage. Northwest Corner, also cheap.
