Game Development Night

This will be an informal meeting where those who would like can share and demo their projects. Afterwards, people can continue the social discussion or take time to work on their projects.

Our first meetup is going to be in the meeting room at the Seattle Public Library's Green Lake branch.  This isn't the most ideal, but I think this will work for our first meeting, and we can figure out future locations moving forward.

We have the room from 5:45pm to 7:45pm. Around 6:30 we may stop and do a round of introductions and give people an opportunity to discuss what they are working on. The meeting will be very informal.  We are starting early, but feel free to arrive late if you can't make it early. Depending on how things go we may be able to move to a nearby coffee shop or bar if we want to continue afterwards.

On the Green Lake branch's web site they talk about driving directions, parking, and bus routes:

General: http://www.spl.org/locations/green-lake-branch

Directions: http://www.spl.org/locations/green-lake-branch/glk-getting-to-the-branch

The event is not in any way sponsored or otherwise connected to the Seattle Public Library.  They are just providing us the meeting space.

I look forward to meeting you all.

I can't make it. Will it always take place at the library?

Ideally we will soon find a more ideal place, probably located in or closer to downtown and with a little bit later start time. There are some possibilities, and hopefully we will have news on this soon.

What's the parking situation like around the area? Are there other spots nearby in case the library parking lot fills up?

    February 18, 2013

    • Doug H.

I don't usually drive around there, but I think parking is reasonable. The library's lot isn't huge, but even if that fills up street parking isn't too bad. The library is on a busy road, but turn onto a side street and you probably won't need to search too long for a spot. The library is also right across the street from the east-greenlake parking lot, though I'm not sure what rules exist for that lot.

If anyone has more experience, please share your thoughts, but overall, I think parking around that area this time of year is easier than a lot of other neighborhoods.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
