Group Ride To RTC/Lake Samm

Let's do a monthly long ride together! This month, we'll start with a relatively flat ride out to Redmond Town Center or Issaquah and back. We'll have two groups so that we can cater to different abilities. Fast (17+ mph) and long group will do a bit over 50 miles out past RTC + a lap around Lake Sammamish, with a coffee/pit stop at Tully's in Issaquah . Slow (~14 mph) and short group will go to RTC and back for a bit over 30 miles, with a stop at RTC Starbucks. Ride starts and ends at Elliott Bay Brewery, so we'll avoid the bumpy parts of BG trail . Both groups should get back at a reasonably similar time. Heavy rain will cancel the ride. Of course, we'll do post-ride drinks/lunch at Elliott Bay!

Since this is an out and back route, please make sure to STAY WITH THE GROUPS on the way out, but you are welcomed to ride at your own speed back.

You are an animal Danette! I am counting on tomorrow being less wet and will do endurance ride and run, or maybe bike run bike from The Balanced Athlete @ The Landing in Renton.

Hey all...I'll leave it up to you all. Rain doesn't look like it will go away, but I'll probably get my commuter/rain bike out and do a slower ride out to RTC anyway. Anyone who has the proper gear that wants to have a go, please let me know.

    • Tai L.

On the plus side, I'll bet the trail will be fairly empty today :-)

Is anyone heading over from the Green Lake area and have room for me and my bike in their car? I don't have access to a car tomorrow and really want to so this ride!

In for the full loop.. I may have to hang in the back.. I borrowed some fenders for my bike but they don't fit right. Don't want to drown everyone with my rooster tail!

Roll call: Can I get a count of who will be doing the 17mph+/50mile group and who will be doing the 14mph/30mile group? Also, we will be doing some off-the-bike formation riding drills beforehand. You'll be training like the pro's in no time at all. ;-)

17 but may have to bow out early

The first part is out and back, so you can turn around whenever.

Hello, I would like to join the 14mph/30mile group.

I had a really busy week and haven't got around to buy a bike rack and have my bike tuned up. I'll try to get those accomplished today. If I do, and it's not raining tomorrow, I'll ride with the 14mph/30 mile group. Otherwise, I will ride with you guys next time.

Anybody else planning on being in the sub 14 group? I'd hate to be the only one!

I will likely be in the slower group, but i wouldn't mind doing the 50 miler. depending on how my long run goes in the morning ;)

I will definitely be wanting to go with the fast group on this ride. I don't mind leading the less fast group from time to time, but I'd like to crank up the pace for this weekend's ride.

    March 26, 2014

  • Christina P.

IM fast but idk if I can log a 50 mile ride while IM supposed go be training for a half marathon. I may just go part way

    March 23, 2014

    • Tai L.

You can start with fast group, but stop at RTC if you want less mileage.

I need to buy a bike rack and tune up my bike

    March 23, 2014

    • Tai L.

      Yes you do!

      March 23, 2014

  • Lorinda H.

Hoping to do the long one but not sure of my pace as I have mostly been spinning! Can't wait to get outside.

    1 · March 22, 2014

    • Tai L.

Lorinda...you can start with the fast group and either fall back or turn around early.
