Saturday Morning Rise & Shine Run!

We'll be meeting at 7am in the center of the parking lot next to the bathhouse theater. Our goal is to have something for everyone whether you are just starting out or training for a big race. Walkers, joggers and runners are welcome to join on in. We typically try and do longer runs on Saturday mornings, so whatever might be considered a long run for you, our goal would be to build on that distance over time. We have a variety of runners and would have to say that we have a great collection of folks that make running together a lot of fun and very rewarding. Please give Saturday mornings a try!

Went for 10, ended up doing 12, a PR, fought off the urge to puke the entire time, have to say it was a good morning!

Congrats on your distance PR and sorry about the pace, hills, and extra mileage. I have a running problem. ;) Good luck next weekend in Vegas.

Thank you. I was totally fine with the extra mileage, the hills, and the pace. The only thing slowing me down was my stomach cramping up. I will beat you next time! ;-)

Thank you all for showing up for a run this morning. It is pretty awesome that we were able to hit 100 runners this morning! Charlie counted 105! All of your early RSVP's, distance requests and goal paces really helped. These Saturday mornings are definitely a team effort and we count on everyone to make them great. It takes a variety of paces and distances to create a well rounded group and having someone to run with can really make people want to come back for more. I hope you all had a great run. If you are able to make it back next Saturday for more, please RSVP early and we can plan on some more fun. Have a great rest of the weekend and hopefully we'll see you Monday at the track!

We're at 74 RSVP's to start out with on a Friday morning. To be honest we could completely shatter the 100 mark for tomorrow morning, but it will take a team effort. Shoot a text to a running buddy or two, Ragnar team captains invite your team out and we'll get there easy. Who's in?! :-)

Ha! You're on Andrew! I'll be part of the sub 1:30 group and my goal is to keep Francis in my sights. Training is going to be great!

Looking forward to seeing you all in the morning. We'll be getting organized into our distance groups from 7-7:10am and figuring out who in those packs might match up as far as pace. Please be sure to look over the route for the distance you are running (posted in the comments below) and be ready for some fun tomorrow. Last week there was talk of figuring out a post run gathering spot in case there is interest in meeting up for coffee and breakfast. If you've got a plan be sure to share it with others so they might join along after their run.

Be sure to wear reflective gear and/or lights to stand out on your run. See you all in the morning. :-)

We always head over to revolution coffee for breakfast after the Saturday morning run. There is usually about 20 of us that stop in. Revution coffee is right next to Riad runner sports on the east side of Greenlake.

Hi Alison, don't know if you'll see this in time but I'll definitely be adding an extra lap around the lake at the end. I'll bring the directions in case we end up deciding on doing this weeks route.

Route notes for the 16 & 17 mile routes only:
    - mile 5.5: In the arboretum look to your right for a rustic set of steps (railroad ties maybe?) next to a park information sign. Take the steps.
    - mile 6.5: Be careful crossing 24th on Interlaken. There's no painted cross-walk and cars tend to go pretty fast down 24th. For that matter, be careful running on Interlaken because it's a narrow and winding road.
    - mile 11: The route from mile 6.3 to 11 follows the last few miles of the Seattle Marathon (and 1/2 Mar.) course, which is why the route does that little loop around the KCTS building near Seattle Center.

Here are the routes for Saturday morning. Thank you to Francis for sharing your skills this week. Please be sure to familiarize yourself with the route you'll be running prior to your arrival on Saturday morning. It definitely minimizes confusion when everyone has an idea of where they are headed. :-)
