Saturday Morning Rise & Shine Run!

We'll be meeting at 7am in the center of the parking lot next to the bathhouse theater. Our goal is to have something for everyone whether you are just starting out or training for a big race. Walkers, joggers and runners are welcome to join on in. We typically try and do longer runs on Saturday mornings, so whatever might be considered a long run for you, our goal would be to build on that distance over time. We have a variety of runners and would have to say that we have a great collection of folks that make running together a lot of fun and very rewarding. Please give Saturday mornings a try!

Great running this morning with Alex and Dex, after taking it easy the last week and a half. Rain wasn't even a factor.

Bummed I didn't make it but decided I should rest my pulled neck/back muscles for a change considering I had a hard time lifting it off my pillow. Maybe I'll go to the Education Series and learn how not to pull neck muscles.

Boo! I didn't realize you were hurting. Sorry to hear it and I hope it feels better soon!

Well, too many charuranga pusgups, falling asleep on the couch, and running have made my neck/back useless

SO great to be back out there! Great run this morning, despite super soggy weather.

Great people, wet weather...now my car smells like wet, sweaty runners.

Nice to take my deserved 26.2 days rest after my fall marathon. Back to it now. Thank you to Howard and Lindsay for the run this morning.

Not my best day...newish shoes on their first long run had my feet losing circulation in the last 3 miles, and my left arch is cranky with me now...but we did it! We are less than a 5k from half marathon distance team!

Wow! What a morning! For some reason this was just the shot in the arm that I needed. I got out my car feeling pretty negative about the weather, but somewhere along the run I was feeling pretty exhilarated. By the time I reached 3rd Ave I was in attack mode and felt excited not be dreading the next couple of miles that were up ahead. Thanks to all of you that made it out today! It's runs like this with a little adversity build in that make the finish line all the sweeter! :-)

Let me know if you guys would like a 13 mile route as well or if those going longer are fine with adding on before or after. Lot's of 10 milers this week. Remind me a get a picture. :-)

Good morning! Tomorrow will be my 2nd time attending this event. I plan on running 10 or maybe more depending how adventurous i'm feeling. I was wondering if there are designated pacers within each distance group. I would love to run at a pace that I'm comfortable with (just so I don't slow anyone down or anything like that, while still being able to challenge myself). I'd love to run with anyone around the 7:15 8 mile pace. Either way, I will see you all bright and early tomorrow! Cheers.

Kevin- we don't have designated pacers...however we should have at least 2-3 people running in the 7-8 minute mile pace in the 10 mile route in the morning. Bill & I will try to form some loose pace groups before morning announcements. That is Loka's target zone and he is running the 10.

Hey guys, new to this group. I am considering running with this group, but am curious as to how this works? I was going to run at least 13 miles Saturday anyway. Does majority rule when deciding the distance of the run?

    October 25, 2012

    • Loka M.

Hi Ginger, Welcome to the group! Saturday's are great and glad you'll be joining us. We rely on the distance requests that come in during the week to help determine which distances to create routes for. Penny is hoping to run 13 and Morgan wanted 15. I would be more than happy to map a 13 to add to the collection if you 3 are interested in grouping up.

Yay! Welcome J-Wall! :-) I have just the route for you. :-)

Being the odd man out, I'll attempt 10 miles. To date, that's my longest run and I broke that landmark in 2004, sheesh!

    October 25, 2012

    • Loka M.

The 10 will be great Jeff and you'll enjoy your time all the more with all the company you'll have. Especially if you stick to the route this week. :-)

I am definitely torn this week. There are only two requests for distances beyond 10 and don't want to have Penny and Morgan off on their own running those routes. What if we just had the 10 as the longest and you two could add on at the end or before and have plenty of others to run with. If we see some other 10+'s come in we can build that route?

I'm wondering if I can join at a later time. I will have to take a bus from Bellevue and get there around 7:30. Or I would appreciate if anyone could give me a ride! I'm flying to Seattle from Tokyo tommorow and will stay at my friend's place in SE Bellevue this weekend before going to New York for the NYC marathon in the next weekend. -Junko

I see some 6's, 10's, 13 and 15. Any other distance requests that you'd like to throw into the pot?
