Electric Run

The Electric Run is coming to WA this August and it looks like a blast.

Electric Run™ is more than a 5k, it’s a different world. Along the 5k route music will pump and lights will dance creating a electric wonderland that will keep you energized and moving to the beat. You’ll run, walk, and dance through distinct lands with lights and music custom mixed to match the mood of the lighting elements.

Each event is unique and features 5-7 lands and features.  Depending on the event you participate in you may experience many of the following:

  • Glowing neon trees changing colors to match the music
  • Tunnels with dancing patterns and figures on the walls, ceilings, and floors
  • Lakes and rivers glowing in other-worldly hues
  • Tunnels of light created by a rainbow of lasers
  • Glowing arches and columns
  • Neon saguaro cactus
  • Red rock cliffs glowing in psychedelic colors and patterns
  • Glowing arches changing color in tempo
  • Colored fountains dancing to the beat
  • Entire buildings lit so brightly that they can be seen from space
  • And so much more.

Hey guys! Thanks for the great company on my first race/running event ever! :) I enjoyed it! I'll work on speed and endurance, so I can try to keep up on some of the weekly SGLRG runs... see you all again! :D

Ok, so I didn't get a chance to pick up my packet on Friday, so I'll have to pick it up at the event tonight. Does anyone have any neon accessories I might be able to borrow?

So I'm not sure if someone actually has figured where the stat and finish actually are at the fairgrounds, but comparing the course map on the site with the Fair map I attached a link to, I think the start and finish are by the blue gate on Meridian. I propose we meet by the "FINISH" at 8:10 for a picture. It may be obvious we want to do it somewhere cooler, but let's meet there. Look for the dude with the neon green SGLRG shirt and the neon orange headband!

Hey, everyone! :) I'm new to Seattle and the whole running scene but this looks like tons of fun! I was wondering if anyone who's driving might have space for me? Or if there is anyone who's taking the bus to Puyallop who might want some company for the 2 hr ride?

    August 10, 2013

    • Jerry J.

There's a bus? Where can I get more info about the bus to Puyallop?

      August 15, 2013

    • Cathy

Hi Jerry. I just google mapped it... with the address 110 9th Avenue SW
Puyallup, WA 98371. But it sounds like there are plenty of drivers with extra space.

Hey everyone! So excited for tomorrow evening. I will be at the Greenlake Park and Ride at 6 pm. I have room for 3 people comfortably.

    August 15, 2013

  • Jerry J.

Is anyone spending the night in Puyallop? Or is everyone returning the same night?

How much neon is TOO much neon?

    August 14, 2013

    • Steve S.

Let's see, between my daughter and I we have the neon body paint, a few bracelets, neon striped knee socks (that's her), neon wrist and head sweat bands (that's me), neon lightup sticks to tie to our shoes, and of course shirts. Is that too little, or too much?

I think that's a level we should all aspire to!

I think we should plan a carpool/caravan adventure. Meet at the Green Lake park-and-ride at 6:00 PM? The race page says to arrive by 7:30 PM for the 8:45 PM race start. If you want to join, post your RSVP and mention whether you can drive (and how many you can take) or need a ride. I can drive and take 3-4 others.

I'll have 2-3 spots open, depending on how comfy people want to get in the backseat.

Are we meeting up for a group picture before the race starts? If so, when and where?

    August 11, 2013

    • Steve S.

I think it's a great idea, but I don't know the fair grounds that well and the map doesn't help very much. Can anyone make sense of it? I would say picture at 8:15 pm, which is 30 minutes before the race, but don't know where to meet.

      August 13, 2013

Decided not to do this race after all, even though I signed up months ago. I have too much going on this weekend, and am feeling a little over committed. Have fun everyone! It looks like a pretty fun race.

The promo code "FRIEND5" should get you $5 off through this Sunday, August 11. AFAIK, it's the only current discount I know of.

    August 10, 2013

  • Steve S.

So question. Have we registered as a team, and if so what team do we register under to get the $5 discount. Also, if we do that, can we use code HOTCHOC1 for an additional 10% off? Prices go up tomorrow night, so trying to figure it out. Going to register myself, Abby, and possibly one of her friends, so could save some money.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
