How did 2014 look for you as far as running? Any highlights that you'd like to share?

I had a great year. I returned from an IT band injury (the true highlight), got a half PR at Newport, ran my first sub 7 min/mile 10k since I was in my 20s, finished my 2nd marathon at Skagit Flats, had a great Ragnar with the Worst Pace Scenarios, and won my age group in two races. Turning 50 helps with that.

Have you made any running goals for 2015?

Run 1000 miles again, run at least one race each month, and generally have a great time running what ever distance I choose, with no pressure of qualifying for Boston.

The SGLRG has running events basically everyday of the week. Do you consider yourself a morning or evening runner if you were to choose?

I run both, although I've turned into more of a morning, although 5:30 am runs are still pretty tough. I was probably 50/50 in 2014.

Do you have a preferred race distance of choice? What races are you planning on running in 2015?

I love 15K, although there are not many options out there. Starting with the Rain Run, Half Ass 25K, and Lake Sammamish, and we'll see from there.

Why do you run? And what keeps you motivated?

I don't know, I like it. I feel better about myself when I'm running. And I love running with my friends. I usually need a goal to keep me motivated. A race helps for sure.

I've been running with SGLRG since December of 2011. I was an old high school XC and track runner, who started running again in 2010. Now I'm just an old runner w/ two marathons, 8 half marathons, and three Ragnars under my belt. Thanks to SGLRG!
