January Jam

We had a blast last time we did this at Gas works park, so lets do this again :). The idea is very simple, please show up with whatever drums you have and get ready for a jam. If you don't have a drum yet, that's cool too! Some of us carry spares (I will carry two). The way we did this last time was one person in the circle holds the base Rhythm and others are free to embellish or build a structure on top of the base rhythm. Every few minutes the person holding the base rhythm and the base rhythm itself change. Very fun and pressure free, not all of us are professionals! I will carry firewood in case it is cold even in the sheltered area at Gas works park, but going by the enthusiasm with which we jammed last time, I don't really think we are going to use the firewood :) See you all there! Wonderful way to start the year! Good communication and sharing, about 20 folks drumming, didjing, and chiming in with other rhythm instruments. We shared the cold, and a heater someone brought. An open and accepting drum circle. I hope we do this again.

Had a great time. The snow coming down made it even better. Peace is possible.

Lovely, watching the snow fall and absorbing the rhythm. Just wish I had a synthetic drum head, had to be gentle on it!

Great jam! Awesome beats, people, and choice of drums.
One star less because of cold weather, but that doesn't affect the actual meetup. It did start snowing a little which made it a little magical.
    Can't wait for better weather!
