Sea Stacks, Waterfalls into the ocean, Cliffs... Northern Oregon Coast down to the Central Oregon Coast. Ecola State Park, Seal Rocks, Cape Kiwanda, Cape Perpetua and lots of other possibilities. Winter is the very best time for coastal photography, it is when you get great waves and dramatic skies. Oregon State Parks have very nice facilities in all the areas we will be, camping spots this time of year are $20/night and Yurts $36/night. Yurts can hold 3 comfortably making for some cheap comfortable camping. Reservations are pretty easy to get this time of year for Yurts and not an issue at all for camp sites. I suggest we use the comment feature in this Meetup to set up shared camping spots/Yurts. Jan 8-13th 2012, leave Sunday morning and come back Friday evening. Start out at South Beach CG for a couple nights then head north along the coast for a night at Cape Lookout CG then a couple nights at Newhalem Bay CG plus photo opps along the way. Going for multiple days gives us the best chance for some great light. This time of year is very unpredictable, but about the only weather that should cancel the trip is snow, though it could make for some unique shots :)
Plan on cool/cold weather/rain/wind. Extra socks in case they get wet.
