I learned to crochet the night of the huge snow storm in 2011. I went to the store before it started and bought a J hook. I also got some white Impeccable yarn. Then I sat down on my couch and began to watch a video on vintage puff stitch anthropologies hat. I remember that it took me an hour to do the first row which was 8 puff stitches haha. I was so frustraded, But I kept at it. 3.5-4 hours later my hat was finished. I was so mad at it though because it didn't fit properly. It was big and annoying. However, the thrill of completing it made me so happy. I kept going from there. I am self taught and I continue to learn something new everyday!
My mom told me about making a Puff stitch hat and I said I would try it. I hated the hat, but loved making it! Before that I was an avid loomer!!
I like to crochet at home, but I have found crocheting in the sun at the park or (UW) Quad is very relaxing and enjoyable to me, I rarely do it though. I think that maybe on a nice Saturday or Sunday when the sun is out it would be a nice place to do crafts.
I am Stephanie, I am 22 years old. I go to UW-seattle, Anthropology major. I am interested in finding friends and joining a few groups with similar interests. I am ready to get out there but I find myself not doing it, I dont want to be a homebody.
