Tell us a little bit about your first project. What did you make and how long did it take?

Crappy Martha Stewart alpaca blend yarn scarf. I can't wear it. It itches too much. My cat Mimi likes to sleep on it. It took about a week or so. Maybe less.

How did you become interested in your craft?

My SIL knows I crochet and she does both. She said to me over Christmas "You should learn to knit and make your own sweaters" I had recently really wanted a Cowichan. Now I can make one. Sweet!

Is there a special place you like to knit, crochet or create and do you have a suggestion on a good place for the group to get together?

I will knit anywhere. Including standing, waiting for the bus. But I think cozy places in the winter (I wonder if the lounge at the Sorrento Hotel might be nice.) As long as there is enough light. Outdoors in the summer in the sunshine or under a nice shade tree. Or an outdoor cafe maybe.

I've become a fanatic. I love wearing sweaters. Now I can make whatever I want in really nice fiber.
