I've been knitting for longer than most folks realize I've been alive. No, I don't know all the techniques, and there are some I'll never be good at, but I LOVE to knit, and I don't spend near enough time with other knitters.
I started out just knitting strips or tube of whatever yarn eight-year-old me could find around the house. Eventually, as a teenager, I bought my own yarn and knit a polo shirt, on size 0 needles. It took a month!
My mom taught me garter stitch, although she could barely knit herself. I looked up other techniques in an encyclopedia; then several years later, as an exchange student in Germany, I learned the fast, efficient method I've used ever since.
I'll knit anywhere, but I recently knit myself a beard at Wayward coffee house, with my friend Kikki. I giggled all the way through it. :D Their lighting is good btw.
I have met the best people in this group! Last night was like a party where I got a bunch of knitting done. The atmosphere was so happy and friendly, not to mention the creative energy...I've attended knit-ins before, but none this upbeat and open.
Hey, we never have seen you drop by yet and you really should. It's a lot of fun and maybe you'll pick up a few hanzi along the way.
Hi Larissa and thanks for coming to Sit 'n Knit with Mr. Spock! It was great to spend time talking with you nd getting to know your pal Kikki. I loved the ponytail hat and am going to make one for myself!
Hi Larisa, We talked about practicing Chinese by watching movies and programs in Chinese. I recommended you a Chinese TV Box with a lot of Chinese Channels which is a wonderful way to immerse yourself in Chinese.
I have a fever today, so I will not be able to make it for the Business Chinese Meet up today. I am sorry!
Let's keeop in touch.
Welcome to the group!
I enjoyed meeting you so much! Have a lovely shiny time at the ball and tell stories at dominoes next time. Looking forward to it. *tap tap tap tap tap" LOL :)
