Tell us a little bit about your first project. What did you make and how long did it take?

I knitted this huge stockinette stitch book bag from the first Stitch 'n Bitch book and gave it to a friend who is not a crafter--she promptly overfilled the bag and ripped it. Now I knit more selfishly.

How did you become interested in your craft?

I learned to knit from a dear friend I've known since kindergarten, but I didn't really become obsessed until I moved to Seattle in 2012, joined Ravelry, and learned about yarn beyond the stuff sold at Michaels. Since then I've been unstoppable. :)

Is there a special place you like to knit, crochet or create and do you have a suggestion on a good place for the group to get together?

So far "my" knitting place has been the Belltown Starbucks on 1st and Battery-ish, but I need to find new North Seattle haunts.

Just moved to Greenwood from Belltown! I knit and crochet on the 5 bus every day.
