My first project, 1979 or so, was a hooded wrap sweater. I learned pick knitting at a little Scandinavian yarn shop on University AV closeby NE 45 ST. It's long gone or moved to Ballard or something....
My mom when I was about 8 or 9, I am sure she wanted me to get out of the ktchen and I was good at using my fingers from piano lessons!
