Homescale Permaculture Class

  • Jun 21, 2014 · 9:00 AM
  • Alderleaf Wilderness College

Learn home-scale applications of permaculture.  The course covers permaculture principles and ethics; basic design; many practical strategies you can begin implementing at home right away; and a detailed tour of permaculture projects in action at Alderleaf.  Learn how to get started with this ecological approach to designing for green human settlements.

The class takes place at Alderleaf Farm in Monroe, WA.  Our beautiful 15 acre property is nestled in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains 35 miles east of Seattle.  It is an evolving model of environmental sustainability and features our classrooms, office, two homes, cabins, ponds, a large creek, forested land, pastures, many gardens, chickens, sheep, and food forests.

In this class you will:

Learn permaculture ethics and principles.  Gain an overview of the methods of sustainable design.  Learn about permaculture strategies for the Northwest.  Tour Alderleaf Farm's innovative permaculture projects.  You'll leave on Sunday with a design that you yourself will be able to go home and implement confidently.  We will be in contact with all students prior to the class to determine what type of design may be most appropriate for your particular site.

Hello. I've relocated to Spokane Wa about 18 months ago. I'm not able to make your class Sunday. I have some permaculture education already but am intrigued by your description. I plan to be in your area for a friends wedding in late August. Is it possible for me to come your your farm at that time? Thank you for all you do.

Hi Mia. From August 17-30, we'll be teaching a permaculture design course at our farm and you're welcome to stop by for a visit during that time if you'd like. Feel free to call our office at[masked] and we can set something up. Just ask for Gabe when you call.

oh, I so wish we could... we'll be out of town that weekend. Offer this again! My partner is new to permaculture and this would be perfect. Enjoy!
