Public Community Meeting: Educational Signs for the Beacon Food Forest
When: Saturday, February 9th from 12 - 2pm
Where: El Centro De La Raza,[masked]th Avenue South, Seattle
Share your input on what is helpful and needed in educational signs for your community. Meet the designers Molly Danielsson and Mathew Lippincott. See and give feedback on ideas for materials and concepts.
In the summer of 2012, Friends of Beacon Food Forest received a $12,600 grant from the Sustainable Path Foundation to create educational signs for the Food Forest. These 5-6 signs will educate the community and the general public on the ecological and social processes that make a food forest possible. Molly Danielsson and Mathew Lippincott, an enthusiastic and creative design team from Portland, OR, have been hired to design the signs. The signs will be installed by a volunteer community effort at the Beacon Food Forest in July 2013.
In this public meeting on February 9th, Portland design team Molly Danielsson and Mathew Lippincott, along with Friends of Beacon Food Forest, hope to learn what would be most helpful and needed in educational signs for the Beacon Food Forest from the Beacon Hill community. It will also give the Beacon Hill community a chance to meet the designers and see initial ideas for materials and concepts.
Snacks will be provided.
