  • Alan Lawrence & Juan G. Aguilera will be teaching this unique workshop aimed at ALL levels of photographer from beginner to uber-enthusiast who have an interest in printing their images.  There is nothing like taking your image from the moment you click your shutter to a printed image that you can hold in your hand.   We'll take you on the entire journey in this 3-session workshop.

CLASS 1 (August 6: 7pm-10pm):  Shooting session at Discovery Park.  We'll meet at the Discovery Park Visitor's center and walk down to the waterfront and the lighthouse where we will take landscape images with the intent of printing them later.  We will help you with composition and camera settings to capture the late day light.  (Alan & Juan)

Day 2: Black Rapid Headquarters, Queen Anne
    Saturday, August 10

CLASS 2 (August 10: 10am-12pm):  We will meet in the Classroom at North Shore Unitarian Church in Bellevue where we will learn how to post-process in Adobe Lightroom specifically with printing in mind.  We will learn what rendering intent means and how to manage the colors so that you can get accurate prints.  We will also cover soft proofing and print layouts using Adobe Lightroom. (Alan)

(12:00-2:00):  You will learn how to set up your printer for the perfect prints, how to select paper and what mood and color scheme each paper will present.  You'll also learn about calibration and how to decide what paper to select for your image.  We will have an Epson large format printer and art paper so that each student will be able to take home a professional print of their own image!

Refreshments will be provided.  Black Rapid will also be giving away Black Rapid Straps as door prizes!

We are offering this class at an introductory low price which will likely not be repeated.  Be the first to take this class and get $30.00 off the price of future classes.  8 students will be required for this class.

Also beyond my price point. I really wish I could though; even using ColorChecker Passport camera profiling, i1Match X-rite colorimeter monitor matching, i1Match spectrophotometer printer profiling, my pigment ink prints are too dark without pre compensating in CS5.
