Alan Lawrence & Juan G. Aguilera will be teaching this unique workshop aimed at ALL levels of photographer from beginner to uber-enthusiast who have an interest in printing their images. There is nothing like taking your image from the moment you click your shutter to a printed image that you can hold in your hand. We'll take you on the entire journey in this 3-session workshop.
CLASS 1 (August 6: 7pm-10pm): Shooting session at Discovery Park. We'll meet at the Discovery Park Visitor's center and walk down to the waterfront and the lighthouse where we will take landscape images with the intent of printing them later. We will help you with composition and camera settings to capture the late day light. (Alan & Juan)
Day 2: Black Rapid Headquarters, Queen Anne
Saturday, August 10
CLASS 2 (August 10: 10am-12pm): We will meet in the Classroom at North Shore Unitarian Church in Bellevue where we will learn how to post-process in Adobe Lightroom specifically with printing in mind. We will learn what rendering intent means and how to manage the colors so that you can get accurate prints. We will also cover soft proofing and print layouts using Adobe Lightroom. (Alan)
(12:00-2:00): You will learn how to set up your printer for the perfect prints, how to select paper and what mood and color scheme each paper will present. You'll also learn about calibration and how to decide what paper to select for your image. We will have an Epson large format printer and art paper so that each student will be able to take home a professional print of their own image!

Alan Lawrence is a professional photographer who teaches photography classes and post-production classes at Bellevue College, Everett College and Photographic Center Northwest. Juan G. Aguilera is an Industrial Designer from the University Autonoma Metropolitana in Mexico City. With a pre-press specialty, he has been involved in digital publishing since the darkroom days. A self proclaimed color nut, he believes color is an independent language, with a specific grammar, spelling and intonation. Juan is a teacher at heart, having taught geometry and design with students ranging from middle school to adults, he currently teaches Photoshop, color correction, camera raw and digital photography workflow in the Northwest. He is a member of NAPP (National Association of Photoshop Professionals) and has attended several Photoshop World events.
