Fremont Solstice Parade and Festival

The Parade starts at noon, but there will be lots of people. Parking can be difficult. I suggest you arrive early. The parade is notable for the many exotic, erotic, unusual and creative costumes of the parade participants. Be prepared to have fun. Be sure your batteries are charged and your cards are empty.

Great event! Too bad we got split up but that's expected when you're in a big crowd like that. Chuck and I had a great vantage point but we had to get physical a couple of times to hold our ground :)

Is it alright for other members to post images up even though they didn't sign up.

What a great time! Great group, great location and great subjects. Over the next few days be sure and post up to six of your best shots on the meetup page. Nothing is censured as far as I know. If you have a spectacular shot or two upload to the website showcase gallery.

Hey Phil, e-mail me at [masked] to discuss a park and ride meet up place. I'm at a lose as to where would be a good meeting place so I'm open to any suggestions.

    Anyone else?

The naked bicyclists are to lead off the parade at 11:45 am. Go to http://seattlepipeline.com/2012/06/11/Fremont-solstice-naked-bike-parade-picture-Seattle/ for details. Any one want to be a naked bike photographer? Could be fun!

Arniez, thanks for the post. Let's all take and share high quality photos this year, so we can be eligible for press passes in 2013!

The Fremont Solstice Parade is my favorite Seattle activity for getting colorful and unusual images. The photographer can stay on the sidelines with the crowd but will not get the best images unless they move in the streets along with the parade participants. The Freemont Arts Council has special rules and regulations for these photographers. The R's and R's can be found at http://fremontartscouncil.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/2012_photog_policy2.pdf Enjoy this unique Seattle event.
