What is your favorite photographic subject?

Faces and hands of very pale subjects, generally redheads. Might seem strange, but every angel painted by Jan vanEyck for example was a pale redhead. Same for most of his contemporaries.

What type of camera do you use?

1. Nikon D800/105mm 2.0 DC lens

What type of Meetups would you like to participate in?

1. Portrait sessions, especially studio work, in order to learn the most delicate lighting. 2 Medium format film portraits

What type of workshops would you like to attend?

ditto. What I really need is a mentor to guide me.

Introduction

Hello, I paint portraits in the manner of the 1400's, especially as saints or angels tho not religious . Learning photography to better understand off-camera lighting, get better detail, make more realistic modellos.

What Reed R L. is saying about this Meetup Group

OK so far, but I think a formal series of classes in the craft are in order. Just look at the self-portraits. We all have a great deal to learn, and this these whizbang cameras are keeping many from learning composition and lighting.;
