What we’re about

You might already know what a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) is. You might also know that persons who identify as a Myers-Briggs INFJ or INFP, an empath, an Indigo or an "intuitive" also tend to qualify as Highly Sensitive Persons.  But if you've never heard the term "HSP" before, Dr. Elaine Aron's book "The Highly Sensitive Person" does a wonderful job of explaining the concept.  Her website even includes a quick  HSP sensitivity self-test that many newcomers find valuable.

We are a social club for HSP's. In addition to facilitated discussion gatherings once or twice a month, we also have park outings, museum visits, and the occasional dinner party.  Because roughly 75% of HSPs are introverts, it is not unusual for HSP's to feel somewhat socially isolated. Like you, many of us are not wild about signing up for social gatherings with total strangers. But we have found that there are real benefits to spending time with others who "get it", and we make a real effort to select HSP-friendly venues for our gatherings.

As an informal social group, we are not  equipped to provide group therapy or mental health support. If you are at a place in your life where you feel that you could benefit from professional assistance, you might wish to read Chapter 8 of "The Highly Sensitive Person." The book discusses a range of approaches for getting skilled help and support.

Lastly:  We do not allow any form of selling or client solicitation in this group.  This includes Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) / Referral Marketing / Network Marketing for Business purposes, etc.

We look forward to meeting you.
