Always considered myself an "introverted-extrovert", but it wasn't until I read Elaine Aron's book that the feelings had a named form.
"Highly Sensitive Person" along with a number of citations.
Well...I've belonged to a number of Meetup groups that I really would like to go and enjoy, but the thought of a big, loud, fast moving group of strangers saps the energy right out of me. As a professional I have little problem presenting and speaking to an audience, but in my private time I like a quiet and softly lit enviornment.
Something that would allow creating, learning or building while socializing with a group of folks. Tasks are a great way to help focus on something if the socializing gets overstimulating and fun to see what others create. Some events I've planned and/or attended before are; Pottery, painting, wood working, basket weaving, outdoor herb walk, candle & soap making and cooking classes.
Friendship with other HSP'ers would be great! Meeting a few activity buddies who enjoy some of the same hobbies I do (scuba diving, motorcycle riding, traveling, moderate hiking/walking, movies, technology, etc.) would be a super-cool bonus.
Hi Fellow HSP'ers. Happy to see a group exists that I might not shy away from attending; at least I figure the Meetups will be in an HSP-friendly enviornment and not a crowded bar. Hope to meet many of you in the coming months. :) LeAnne
