I am writing these answers to these questions kinda late and so I will be somewhat brief. I am in the middle of Susan Cain's book Quiet after stumbling upon it in Village Books in Fairhaven. She has done folks such as myself an amazing service. Of course, I have always known that I was introverted, but up until now, I had concluded that it was pathological. Society has a way of catering to the bold and the brash and marginalizing the reflective and the quiet.
I have not read her books yet. Susan Cain talks of her work and I figure that soon enough I will get my hands on some of her material.
I tend to be alone a lot. I am not a big party guy by any stretch of the imagination and I far prefer blending into the background than being the center of attention. My tendancy toward shyness has hindered me in many ways, but I have made great strides in many many ways over the years. I still have a ways to go, but it is a journey that I doubt ever ends.
I work out very regularly at a local gym. i play guitar and am a novice songwriter. I recently bought a digital SLR and very much would love to learn how to use it. I very much enjoy hiking...As far as participating in a group like this, one of my main desires is to get to know people and making friends and acquaintances.
I hope to gain friendships mainly.
Hi. I am relatively new to the region. I am from Florida and have been here for three years. I live in Everett and work here as well. I am a Cardiac Sonographer. I am interested in meeting other folks of my ilk. You can blame this on Susan Cain
