Seattle Running Club Sunday run (regular recurring event)

  • August 25, 2013 · 7:30 AM
  • Red Town Trailhead at Cougar Mt. UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED

The Seattle Running Club hosts a trail run every Sunday beginning at 7:30 AM. These are generally 12 to 15 miles long over hilly terrain, with a wide range of paces. All runners -- club members and nonmembers alike -- are welcome, though we encourage regular attendees to join the club. (Membership info is available at
www.seattlerunningclub.org.) Our "default" location is the Red Town trailhead at Cougar Mountain; the run organizers will leave a comment here if going elsewhere on any given Sunday. People are also encouraged to use comments to offer carpooling assistance, etc. More information, including a map of our usual Cougar routes and directions to the Red Town trailhead, is available at
www.seattlerunningclub.org.

Great day for a run and good to go with folk who knew the trails. Sorry I had to cut my run short to get home. Very much appreciated the fern arrow markings so I wasn't holding everyone up.

Can we do shorter trail if we choose?

The past couple runs we have done a shorter 6-8 mile loop, and then a 2nd loop for folks who would like to go further. I would recommend bringing along a handheld water bottle for the run.

The most I've ever done is 6miles and I found that quite hard. Is there a smaller loop I could run at this location with you all? I'm sure there are some beginners in this meetup. I'd like to stretch myself and attempt a 7 - 8 mile but I think I need more training time to get to 12.

I'm fairly new to this group and these trails as well. 6-8 is def doable.
